The Pitter-Patter of Little Feet

And medium feet....and big feet.

All three of our rowdy boys in one place at one time. Now that doesn't happen often, what with them spanning ages 4 to almost-20! But we're glad when it does.

Basketball and Bicycles

Goodness, the rowdy boys have been busy lately. Not long ago, PeeWee Basketball came to a close. Here is a peek at Hunter in action.

And here he is with a bunch of his friends at the post-season party. They all received medals for basketball and football, too.

There was also lots of pizza and Pepsi and...(gasp!)...DANCING! Don't worry - Hunter didn't dance. He's at that lovely age where the girls want to dance and the boys...well, they want to, but they just can't bring themselves to do it yet. But look out 'cause when the time comes, he can bust some dance moves!

Today Clint had Tykes on Trikes at school, raising money for Arkansas Children's Hospital. All the kids had fun - it's a big deal to bring your bike or scooter to school and show it off to all the other kids.

Right away, Clint began giving everyone's bike the once over.

"Wait a minute....this guy has a bike JUST LIKE MINE!"

Before long, we got a thumbs up...

and a grim look of determination...

and we got down to the business of riding. In circles. Over and over again. Really, he was having so much fun, I don't think he even got dizzy!

Snow Day!

Just how much snow does it take to call off school? Apparently, not that much. Although the weatherman made some pretty big predictions and part of the state actually did get their fair share of the white stuff, we were on the short end of the stick. Again. We managed to make the best of it though.

Meet Frosty Quaker Grace Martens.

What the heck is the deal with the name, you ask? Well, Frosty, for obvious reasons.....and it made sense to Clint. Quaker, because of the mini popcorn cakes we used for his eyes. (I wouldn't say that I was totally unprepared to be snowed in - I just didn't give much thought to the possibility that we might just maybe get enough snow to play in, and that we probably would then build a snowman, and we would surely need something in the pantry of eyeball size.) Grace, because that is the token middle name around here - it would've been Hunter's middle name had he been a girl; ditto for Clint; it actually IS Maggie's middle name.....and it made sense to Clint.

We know he's not much to look at, but we love him just the same.

Once we were finished with Frosty, there was just enough snow left to have a little ol' snowball fight.

All in all, I would say we had a pretty good snow day. Wouldn't you?

LEAPIN'

Leap Year....it happens every four years. The burning question is why? You could google it and get some really lengthy explanation, but here it is in a nutshell: somewhere, sometime, someone made a huge mistake in the creation of the time continuum. Then someone else tried to save the first guy's butt by saying, "I know! How about we just add a day? Say, in February? Maybe....every four years?" All the science-time continuum-geeks looked around at each other and nodded in agreement, and presto! Leap Year was born. More precisely, Leap Day was born. It all leaves me feeling a little....uneasy. But we did our best to give Leap Day it's appropriate nod.

We leapt....

and leapt....

and leapt some more....

We took five....

We took care of some very important bidness....

And we somersaulted....

There's just really no logic to the way a four-year-old identifies with a holiday, is there?

Umm...Clint? What is today?

Finally, we got back on track....

So...how did YOU celebrate Leap Day?
